Kal Kazimi, a graduate of Jordan University with an electrical engineering degree, came to the United States to pursue his career in the engineering field in 1986. In 1987, his field of interest changed when he started working for Genetti's Hotel and Convention Center. He worked his way through the ranks: waiter, captain, food and beverage, until he became general manager in 1995. In February 2004, Kazimi saw an opportunity to go out on his own and began establishing a family business to serve the local community with his unique mixture of fine dining, drawing influences from Mediterranean, Italian, and American cuisine.
